Hampr and OpenID

Hampr does not use usernames and passwords for login. Instead, it uses OpenID, a decentralized digital identity service. OpenID gives you the power of single sign-in: no more remembering hundreds of usernames and passwords! Instead, you sign into one of a number of public identity providers, and OpenID-enabled sites like Hampr ask your identity provider for permission to let you log in. Hampr never sees your OpenID password, and cannot hijack your account on other OpenID-enabled sites.

Other OpenID Providers

There are a number of public identity providers available. Any will work with Hampr. Most likely, you already have an OpenID, and you just don't know it! Here are a few common sites that are automatically OpenID identity providers:

MySpace, format is http://www.myspace.com/username
Flickr, format is http://flickr.com/photos/username
LiveJournal, format is http://username.livejournal.com
